The Opportunity:
SIHO Insurance Services, a provider owned, regional health plan administrator and insurer based in Columbus, Indiana is seeking a strategic finance leader to serve as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a rare opportunity to join a mission-aligned organization at a true inflection point and help shape the next chapter.
The Position:
The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a core strategic partner to the CEO and Board, leading all financial, regulatory, and capital strategy for a growing, health insurance and services organization headquartered in the Midwest. The CFO will play a pivotal role in transitioning the organization from a multi-year investment and build phase into sustained profitability, scale, and long-term enterprise value creation. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic vision and operational rigor in a complex, regulated insurance environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in healthcare finance, business, or relevant field is required. A graduate degree in healthcare finance, business, or relevant field is strongly preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
- Senior finance leadership experience within health insurance, managed care, provider-owned plans, or closely related healthcare services organizations.
- Demonstrated success operating in smaller, growth-oriented, or entrepreneurial environments requiring adaptability and hands-on leadership.
- Deep understanding of insurance financials (commercial and Medicare Advantage), including risk-based capital, regulatory filings, and cost-of-care economics.
- Proven ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to Boards and non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience partnering with executive teams and boards through periods of growth, transformation, or capital investment.
- Experience with engaging with external stakeholders such as regulators, investors, and potential private equity partners.
- Leadership style that combines confidence, accountability, collaboration, and the ability to “lead from the front”.
