Nature of Job
Develop and create Personal Lines products that support corporate growth and profitability initiatives. Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders and knowledge holders within the organization to ensure clarity of strategy and focus on results for appropriate product lines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Stays current with the market to understand key trends impacting Personal Lines markets, customers, products, services and operational processes.
- Maintains awareness of regulatory and compliance issues related to Personal Lines products.
- Serves as an in-house expert for Personal Lines products and functions as the internal resource for coverage analysis, pricing and rate filings.
- Based on analysis of trends and market needs, recommends and creates product solutions to support corporate growth initiatives and profitability.
- Works with Underwriting and Marketing to maintain and prioritize an inventory of product changes/updates for the development pipeline.
- Works with the Lancaster Mutual Product Manager to coordinate product strategies.
- Facilitates the conversation between Actuarial, Underwriting and Marketing to ensure product competitiveness and targeted profitability.
- Monitors changes from rating bureaus and makes recommendations for implementation.
- Monitors the success of product initiatives.
- Drafts proprietary endorsements; participates in regular rate reviews.
- Provides materials for filings.
- Collaborates and builds consensus to successfully lead product initiatives to a conclusion.
- Works with the implementation team to implement product changes.
- Provides educational and training materials for Personal Lines products.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- College degree preferred; CPCU designation is strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Minimum of five years’ experience in Personal Lines insurance product management or Underwriting.
- Strong technical knowledge of Personal Lines coverages, rates, rules and forms.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO/AAIS circulars and bulletins.
- Ability to analyze and articulate complex coverage matters and rating processes.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to develop draft endorsements.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in office suite (MS OfficePro: Word, Excel), database management, email and scheduling; ability to learn company computer systems.
