IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Commercial Trucking Claims Specialist that can report to one of the following locations:  

• Alpharetta, Georgia
• Naperville, Illinois
• Rolling Meadows, Illinois
• Raleigh, North Carolina
• Omaha, Nebraska

This role will handle commercial trucking claims covering the entire United States.  The Claims Specialist is responsible for investigating the extent of the company's liability and will be responsible for handling injury and property damage claims from inception until conclusion of the claim, which could include attorney represented and litigation cases.

Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Handle moderate exposure 3^rd party bodily injury claims based on Claim Guidelines
• Verify/analyze applicable coverage for the reported loss also including the drafting of correspondence, including but not limited to, coverage disclaimers, reservation of rights and liability denials as required.
• Investigate each claim by gathering information, conducting interviews, taking statements, conducting website research as needed, reviewing, and analyzing reports and related bills.
• Identify potential red flags and suspicious claims and refer to SIU
• Evaluate, negotiate, and authorize settlements with all stakeholders within designated authority.
• Select, direct and manage Vendors/Counsel including approval of defense budgets.
• Negotiate directly with claimants and claimant attorneys upon receipt of critical information.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelors’ degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant claims experience or equivalent
• Equivalent experience is defined as 6 -9 years of relevant customer service experience, including the 3-5 years of claims experience mentioned above
• Experience handling 3^rd bodily injury claims including attorney and litigated matters.
• Experience handling commercial trucking claims
• Knowledge of the Motor Carrier Coverage Form, Business Auto Form and Non-Trucking Coverage Form
• Knowledgeable in both state and federal jurisdictions
• Have the appropriate claims license or the ability to attain
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to set priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Authorization to work in the United States and must not require, now or in the future, VISA sponsorship for employment purposes

• Experience handling commercial trucking bodily injury claims in all states
