Monitors the organization's standards of conduct and ethical relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, employees and the communities in which business is conducted. Investigates allegations of unethical activity and develops safeguards to eliminate future breaches of the organization's ethics policies.<h2><br><b>Job Description:</b></h2><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>Primary Accountabilities</b></p><ul><li><b>Compliance and Risk Analysis</b></li><li>Researches and interprets regulatory requirements, findings and legislative alerts for trends and potential business impact.</li><li>Assists business units in assessing business policies and procedures for gaps that may expose the company to significant privacy compliance risks.</li><li>Conducts surveys and interviews of business unit employees to determine if business practices, or absence of practices, present significant regulatory, ethical, or legal compliance risks.</li><li>Conducts privacy impact assessments on applications, systems, processes and vendors.</li><li>Identifies compliance deficiencies and areas of risk and works with business units to develop and implement risk mitigation plans.</li><li>Prepares and issues risk assessments and findings reports to the assessed area&#96;s Vice President and/or stakeholders and presents findings to the Enterprise Privacy Council.</li><li>Partners with Legal, Digital Risk, Sourcing, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Risk Management to manage risk from internal and external sources.</li></ul><p></p><ul><li><b>Consumer and Regulatory Response</b><ul><li>Acts as the face of the company to consumers, state insurance departments and other regulators to respond to privacy inquiries.</li><li>Works with business units to produce data reports and documentation to respond to consumer and regulatory inquiries. Compiles all relevant information and issues the company&#96;s response.</li><li>Develops relationships with key stakeholders in business units to effectively respond to consumers and regulators within the inquiry or exam timeline.</li><li>Reviews and analyzes criticisms issued by consumers and regulators and works with affected business units to verify the validity of and respond to criticisms.</li><li>Reviews and analyzes reports issued by regulators. May negotiates with regulators to reach an agreement on the identification and handling of reported criticisms and issues.</li><li>Evaluates industry compliance trends and applies that knowledge to Enterprise business practices.</li><li>Works with business units to develop action plans on any issues arising from regulator inquiries. Monitors business unit&#96;s progress against the action plan. Communicates plan and progress to key stakeholders.</li><li>Partners with Enterprise Digital Risk and Corporate Legal to evaluate privacy incidents, determine necessary actions and coordinate consumer and regulator notifications as needed.</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><ul><li><b>Process and Program Administration</b><ul><li>Supports the Enterprise Privacy Program by establishing and reporting on privacy metrics.</li><li>Leads the development, implementation and maintenance of consumer privacy notices, privacy policies, standards and procedures to ensure enterprise compliance with federal/state privacy requirements.</li><li>Leads the development and facilitation privacy training and awareness campaigns aimed at the Enterprise as well as specialized role-based training.</li><li>Leads cross functional projects and initiatives</li><li>Manages third-party vendor and I/S relationships, including adherence to contract terms and service standards. Involves Sourcing department in vendor issues as appropriate.</li><li>Actively promotes a culture of compliance.</li></ul></li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><b>Travel Requirements</b><ul><li>This position requires travel up to 10% of the time.</li></ul><p><b>Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements</b></p><ul><li>Established knowledge in privacy compliance and operationalizing a privacy program.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills to support consultation and program design.</li><li>Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.</li><li>Highly skilled in risk assessment and risk mitigation protocols.</li><li>Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage deadlines is a must.</li><li>Insurance operations understanding and experience is a plus.</li></ul><h2></h2><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2><b>Additional Job Information:</b></h2><ul><li>Demonstrates specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise privacy compliance.</li><li>Leads others to solve complex problems.</li><li>Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.</li><li>Readily leads independent efforts and delivers objectives, including owning key responsibilities for the privacy program.</li><li>Ability to lead cross-functional team projects.</li></ul><p></p><p>This position is a hybrid role that involves working a minimum of 10 days per month in the office.
